ALSC National Institute
All this weekend I had the opportunity, sort of last minute, to attend a nation Association for Library Service toal conference for the Children (ALSC). It was downtown, at the Hilton, and it was great. Since Utah hosted the event they had a western theme and the local crew all wore denim shirts and cowboy hats. One even wore a Some of my co-workers came and it was fun being with them. The whole weekend was about services for children and new books, etc etc. I was wonderful. They even had some famous authors there and I got a few books signed. That's like a celebrity for a librarian! (hehe) One was William Joyce, who wrote "George Shrinks" - which inspired that PBS show! It was great! What an opportunity - hopefully I'll get to go again!
